While it is not required, we recommend students dress as though they are competing in an actual live recital. It is helpful if the student announces the composer and title of the piece before his/her performance, but it is not required. Here are some other helpful guidelines on the actual video recording:
Suggestions for a good quality video:
1. The camera has to be directed to the performer and their hands.
2. Do not use the digital zoom. Put the video recording device at a shorter distance.
3. If you are recording using a mobile device (phone, tablet. . .), place it only in a horizontal position.
4. Try to avoid unwanted noise during recording (the sounds behind the scenes etc.)
5. Do not put the artist in front of a bright light source (such as a window)
6. Do not use optical effects (sepia, fast shooting, black/white photo etc.)
7. You may use an external microphone (wireless microphone, stereo microphone)
